Meet Our Staff
Tricia - Receptionist
Tricia is our front desk receptionist. She schedules appointments and coordinates all necessary paperwork with local outpatient centers and hospitals. Before joining our team in October 2008, Tricia worked in a medical office setting for over 5 years. Her expertise in computer technology has greatly improved the efficiency of our office. In addition to her skills as a receptionist, Tricia is also a certified medical office assistant.
Shaleen - Registered Nurse
Shaleen is one of our two registered nurses (RNs) that accompany Dr. Proffitt to the operating room and assist with all surgical procedures. Shaleen has held a RN degree for 35 years and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing for the last 18years. She graduated Magna cum Laude and is a member of two honor societies, Phi Kappa Phi and Sigma Theta Tau. All of Shaleen’s extensive career as been spent in the operating room. She has held CNOR (certified nurse of the operating room) credentialing for 21 years. CNOR certification is a special certification for RNs who meet a higher standard and practice within in the nursing profession in providing care to patients before, during and after surgery. Shaleen has been a member of the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN) for 21 years. Shaleen’s valuable skills are a great asset to our team. She has assisted Dr. Proffitt in the operating room for 81/2 years.
Denise - Registered Nurse
Denise is one of our two registered nurses (RNs) that accompany Dr. Proffitt to the operating room and assist with all surgical procedures. Denise has held a RN degree for 26 years and has 23 years of experience as an operating room nurse. She is also CNOR credentialed which is a special certification for RNs who meet a higher standard and practice within the nursing profession in providing care to patients before, during and after surgery. Denise has held the Certified Nurse of the Operating Room (CNOR) credential for 20 years. She is also a member of the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses. Denise has brought her expertise and exceptional skills in nursing to the practice of plastic and reconstructive surgery since 1994 and joined our team in 2006.
Leigh - Licensed Practical Nurse
Leigh is Dr. Proffitt’s nurse in the office. She is a Licensed Practical Nurse and graduated in 2000 with honors. In addition to her outstanding nursing skills, Leigh is also an EKG technician and has extra training in sterile techniques. She assists Dr. Proffitt with all office procedures as well as both cosmetic consultations and appointments. Before joining our team in 2006, Leigh‘s previous nursing experience included general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, as well as other plastic surgery experience. Leigh is always happy to answer any questions and is dedicated to helping make sure that all our patients are knowledgeable about any procedure or surgery they may be considering.
Jessica - Insurance and Billing
Jessica has recently joined out team, specializing in all insurance and billing procedures. Jessica will insure all your claims are filed expeditiously. She is available to answer any questions you may have concerning your account. She has over 15 years of experience in the medical field. Jessica attended Rutgers University in New Jersey.
